In these days’ innovation and change are critical to survival. You must not live in the past and dream of the future. Zen is about living in the now. The present is the most important aspect of your life. The past is gone and the future a theoretical concept. If your present is solid and positive, it is the best way to insure a good future since it is the basis for any plans you can make.
In life’s cycles, there are saturations and times of less intensity. Live the fast times consciously and reflect the experiences when the time has slowed down.
In the elegant language of the Stoic philosopher Epictetus, “He is a man of sense who does not grieve for what he has not, but rejoices in what he has.”

And Seneca says:
If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable
