ATTITUDE / TRANSFORMATION

I am amazed by the response to my new book. Thank you for reading it. And I am more than pleasantly surprised at the emails I received inquiring what the next topic will be in the A Way To series.
The multitudes of requests seem to want an expanding of the topics about relationships and health and coincidently these are the very topics that I am currently working on.
But until then…

The national game of Russia is chess. It is a game of perfect information. There are feints but no bluffs. This is why Khrushchev, confronted by imponderables, backed down from the nuclear conformation. Poker on the other hand was originated in the U. S. A. It is played here most avidly and expertly. The combination of risk, guile, open aggression and refined calculation reflects America and its frontier mentality. Kennedy was not even obliged to show his cards.
In which month do the Russians celebrate the October Revolution? November.

Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
A group of chess enthusiasts checked into a hotel and were standing in the lobby discussing their recent tournament victories. After about an hour, the manager came out of the office and asked them to disperse.
“But why?” They asked, as they moved off.
Because he said, “I can’t stand chess nuts boasting in an open foyer.”

Good news My book, A Way To Live – Zen will be out soon in EBook and soft cover. I will post it as soon as it is available. Thank you for following my blog.

I used to have a handle on life but it broke.

A Zen student reached the banks of a wide river. Looking out and across to the wide bank he saw his master on the far shore picking up flat white rocks. He called out to his teacher asking, “Master, how do I get to the other side?”  “Fool!” shouted the master; “You’re already on the other side!”

“Why didn’t you tell me? Why didn’t someone tell me?”

“I’m telling you now.”

When you change the way you look at things the things you look at change.

It used to be Think Yiddish, dress British and talk Chinese.  Now it’s, Talk Black, think White, love Yellow, and act Green.

Be careful of the computer age and the Internet information age.  It is becoming easier to download information a second or third time then to memorize it.  We no longer have to remember anything. Just Google it and the machine remembers for us. We are actually spending our lives in front of a screen mixing, mashing, downloading, uploading and feeding the network.

This magnified, collaborative interaction, complexly ebbed, into our environment and lives, is morphing into our identity.

The ancestor to every action is a thought. Emerson

A woman dropped her keys.  She got down on her hands and knees and searched for them.  She prayed to her God that she would find them. A man came over to her and asked what was wrong.  She explained that she lost her keys.  “Where did you lose them?” the man asked. “Over there in the grass” the women replied.  “Then why are you searching over here on the sidewalk.” He asked.  Because there’s more light here under the lamppost.” She answered.  An old joke with many variations but indicative of how some of us try to solve our problems.  We create our problems on the inside and try to solve them by looking outside of ourselves.
