Work and Life

The traditional belief of the Pueblo Indians that singing and having a good heart while working in the fields would yield better harvests is a beautiful metaphor for the connection between our mindset and the outcomes of our actions. It emphasizes the importance of approaching our tasks with a positive and focused attitude.

Working with intensity, planning, and embracing the unexpected resonates with the idea that success in life often depends on a combination of hard work, careful preparation, adaptability, and resilience. Setting clear targets, planning the necessary steps, and measuring progress are key elements in achieving your goals. However, it’s important to acknowledge that no plan can predict every possible twist and turn that life may throw at you. Surprises, both positive and negative, are a part of the journey, and your ability to adapt to them can be just as important as your initial plans.

The quote “Every man dies but not every man lives” encourages us to seize the opportunities in life, take risks, and make the most of our time. It’s a reminder that existence alone is not enough; we should aim to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives.

Nutrition

Nutrition means eating healthier foods and eliminating junk and fattening foods. Changing your dietary habits, especially when living in a society that offers so many different choices of fresh foods, is much easier than you think. Start by giving up one junk food and substituting it for a healthier food. Paying more attention to what you eat helps control your weight and fat content, gives you more energy and protects against brain deterioration. You must especially drink more water that your body needs to metabolize fat. Hunger and thirst are closely related. Try drinking a glass of water when you feel hungry. When a clock is hungry it goes back four seconds.

9/11

When sliding down the razor blade of life, you try to grab the handle but sometimes you grab the blade.

Humans accumulate their fears, the warnings of further violence.

My dormant trauma incubates for durations, festering combat.

The grief in my heart lying low spiking into a blaze.

Green iron flames dancing in emeralds.

Deep inky black strategies swell to the surface to survive.

Retribution, vengeance, payback, justice, no more filigree rhetoric.

Attacks, deeply implanted in our collective memory, fade

into the mundanities of everyday living.

Once again, devastations, the slaughter of the innocence, grief.

Watch out, it’s befalling and we are slumbering soundly.

We have to band together, to stop this from becoming,

THE END.

Improve Your Future

You can have inspiration, motivation, and fantasies, but what you must have is organization and a prioritized plan. Vision is a dream of what we want, what we aspire to become our destiny, and it should be clear. Mission is the focus on who, what, and when. Our values determine how we deal with the interconnectedness. Vision is dream; mission is focus; core values are behavior. In tomorrow’s world, knowledge and information will supersede every aspect of growth. If you want to let the future in, you have to exam, scrutinize, learn, and know, these aspects of your thinking. Then you must be prepared, physically, mentally, logistically, and most of all with implementation.

Success is built on the five C’s: curiosity, confidence, curiosity, contacts and constancy.

Communication

The first sin or original sin was the knowledge of good and evil. We have forgotten that the second sin is speaking clearly. These are man’s affronts against God, the child against the parent and the citizen against the state. This is why, when a great teacher commits these sins, they are punished. Such is the price of being civilized and communicating. Is there any doubt that if Jesus came to earth again and preached we would first put him on television and then after he established himself as a leader either assassinate or crucify him again?

Our price for being civilized is to allow a multiplicity of controls to be placed on us. Our task is to assert our individualism and evolve while dovetailing into our society, an almost Sisyphean task.

Say little. But when you speak, utter gentle words that touch the heart. Be truthful. Express kindness. Abstain from vanity. This is the way.
